Founded
The American University Of London was originally established in 1984 as the American College of Science & Technology and became a University in 1986. AUOL, the international distance learning centre, was incorporated independently as an On-Line and Distance Learning University in 1999 and is not affiliated with any other institution.

Schools
Currently AUOL has six Schools: School of Business, School of Information Technology,
School of Law, School of Education & Liberal Arts, School of English
& School of Humanities. The university has one Call Centre based
in central London. Each School has its own members consisting of
a Dean, tutors, assessors and accredited examiners.
Information Technology
Computer network links AUOL schools and connects to the Internet. Applications
include Microsoft Office Professional 2000, e-mail and instructional
Software.
Academic Calendar & Admissions
AUOL operates on a rolling admissions basis. We will accept an application at any time of the year, from anyone living anywhere in the world as long as the applicant has prior academic and /or work experience that can be considered suitable for the awarding of university credits
Scholarships
AUOL offers scholarships based on need and academic qualifications, including the AUOL Asia Studentship Award, the AUOL Africa Studentship Award & the Barbara George Theodory Award (for gifted students with specific academic interests in Middle Eastern Studies).
